The Internal Audit of Government Section, according to the Disbursement Regulations, was started in 1962 by having the Head of Government authorize the government officers in the sections, to become the internal auditors who check the total disbursement of all debts and other audits so that the audit reports are sent directly to the Head of Government Sections at least once a month.
In 1973, the internal audit requirements were set in the payment, the storage and the money sending of Government Service.
In 1976, according to the Cabinet Resolution, all ministries bureaus departments and equivalent government, together with all provinces, there were job positions for government internal audit, or particular for provinces, to work directly for the head of government service or governors depending on cases and the Ministry of Finance who was responsible for the training.
In 1988-1989, the Ministry of Finance allowed government service to have the internal audit systematically in order to be as the tools for administrators to check and follow up the government service work. Also, the regulations of Ministry of Finance about the internal audit in government service was adjusted in 2008.
In 2004, Suratthani Rajabhat Institute became Suratthani Rajabhat University, according to the Suratthani Rajabhat University enactment.
From these principles and reasons, it is necessary to support internal audit work both in the organization structure status and the freedom of the sections/departments to be more proper and clear for the achievement in management.
In 2012, the university started to work as the internal audit which followed the internal audit, Ministry of Finance of 2008.
